In some states in the US, every year dogs must get vaccination for rabies because of the fast spreading of the disease when left unwatched. Also, when a puppy if born, vaccinations are usually administered frequently. Six weeks, nine weeks, three months, and fifteen weeks- these are the age when puppies are given vaccinations. After that, annual vaccinations are now needed.

Do not stress your dog after it is given a shot because it becomes tired for a few days. The immune system is familiarizing itself to the disease introduced. Also, be aware that dogs may be allergic. Vomiting, diarrhea, and hard time breathing are some symptoms of allergies.

Another thing to know is, though it is hard to believe, that some health problems are being connected to vaccinations some of which are cancer, arthritis, and bowel disease. This is because vaccinations are diseases in small amounts for the immune system to counter, but big enough to have risks. But mostly, these bad effects are due to excess vaccinations.

Dogs are only recommended to have vaccines when they are exposed to such diseases because of pollution or other factors. Inherited diseases are also looked at when giving vaccinations.

Kidneys have many important functions in dogs as in humans. It is used for filtering the body from waste through the urine, maintaining the body of fluids, and many more. That’s why kidney is of big importance and should be treated immediately when there’s a problem. If you think kidney disease is only for human, you’re wrong because even dogs sometimes have it.

There are two types of kidney disease, “acute” and “chronic”. Acute kidney disease can be reversible if detected early, but chronic can only be treated but not reversible. There are signs you can look out for when your dog is old, which is also the cause of the disease. Excessive urinating is one. Although the dog keeps on drinking, the fluid is always being urinated. Loss of appetite, depression, vomiting, and weight loss are the more advanced signs.

There are some things you can do for your dog:

1. Fluid therapy. This will retain the fluid lost by constant urination. Good nutrition like protein, phosphorus, and salt are necessary. Iron and b-vitamins are also vital to counter anemia.

2. Calcitriol is vitamin D to stop the worsening of the kidney. Although it is new, the results are promising.

Still, the best thing to do is take your dog to the vet. Doctors always know the best when it comes to health problems.

Sometimes, our dogs get to eat something bad without their knowing it especially when it is dirty and came from the garbage. Or, the dog might be allergic to the food (yes, they have allergies too). When this is the case, the dog might get diarrhea. As the owner, we don’t want it to happen. Not only is it hard to clean the mess, also the dog feels pain all over.

The best thing to do is take care of it immediately lest it becomes worse. Know what the dog ate, and if it is something poisonous, take it to a vet. Make sure that the dog is taking enough liquid to get him sustained and not be dehydrated.

If the food eaten is not poisonous, you don’t need to go to a vet. Give the dog a 1 day fast to clear out its diarrhea. After that, give him a plain diet every four hours to keep him full. If the situation doesn’t improve, take it to a vet.

There are some serious kinds of diarrhea, and if it happens, bring it to a specialist. Bloody stools, always tired, and no appetite are some symptoms of diseases. Be a responsible owner and do what’s right.

Grooming is must for dogs. However, many dogs resist to grooming, therefore it is essential to train pets from the early days. The main reason behind grooming is that almost all pets harbor fleas – you may not be able to recognize them but they are growing constantly. To get rid of fleas, it is important to remove them from time to time.

Since the reproduction rate in fleas is more – female lays eggs 27 to 45 eggs per day. On the other hand ticks are worse as they lay about 2,000 to 20,000 eggs per day. To eliminate fleas from the pets skin, garlic really helps eliminate fleas. Add garlic in your pets food – the amount of garlic should be based on the size and weight of the animal – add garlic the amount you can consume in your food. You can add garlic in the form of powder, or in crushed form.

Moreover, yeast pills can be used for the same purpose. You can buy these yeast pills from the vitamin store – add it in your pet’s meal and see the effect in just few days. Another important practice is the vacuuming of the carpets. This is important if your carpet is made up of soft material. Do it forcibly, as fleas often stick to soft carpets.

Diagnosis: In the present time, rabies diagnosis in animals is done utilizing skin or blood samples.

Treatment: As far as disease treatment is concerned, there is no treatment. Therefore prevention is better than cure.

Vaccination: this is the best way for the prevention of rabies infection. Rabies vaccination for dogs is mandatory and every pet owner should take it seriously. However, there are dogs, which are not vaccinated and that are why disease like rabies occurs. If the dog bites a human, the animal is kept under observation for some time just to ensure that the animal has rabies or not. People suffering from rabies are given five-shot exposure series of Human Rabies Immune Globulin for protection.

Pet vaccination is important for disease protection. However, many pet owners take vaccinations for granted. It is a routine process that is performed in several veterinary clinics. Vaccination is very important for dogs and dog owners should also take it seriously in order to prevent their dogs from severe diseases.

How vaccinations work against diseases?

In common parlance, vaccination is done to stimulate dog’s immune system so as to protect the body against diseases. When a foreign body or an antigen enters the dog’s body – it is recognized by the antibodies, which bind the antigen and destroy it. As far as the number of doses is concerned, it is really difficult to answer. However, a minimum of two multivalent vaccinations, which mainly include distemper and parvo are given over three months period.

Vaccination against rabies is also necessary. However, vaccination against caronavirus, Bordatella diseases is also needed and depends mostly on the veterinary doctor’s advice. In case of young puppies, vaccination can be done at six to eight weeks of age and should be given every 3 to 4 weeks until the puppy reaches almost 16 weeks of age.

It is necessary for every dog owners to first consult with the veterinary doctor and then go for pet vaccinations.
