In some states in the US, every year dogs must get vaccination for rabies because of the fast spreading of the disease when left unwatched. Also, when a puppy if born, vaccinations are usually administered frequently. Six weeks, nine weeks, three months, and fifteen weeks- these are the age when puppies are given vaccinations. After that, annual vaccinations are now needed.
Do not stress your dog after it is given a shot because it becomes tired for a few days. The immune system is familiarizing itself to the disease introduced. Also, be aware that dogs may be allergic. Vomiting, diarrhea, and hard time breathing are some symptoms of allergies.
Another thing to know is, though it is hard to believe, that some health problems are being connected to vaccinations some of which are cancer, arthritis, and bowel disease. This is because vaccinations are diseases in small amounts for the immune system to counter, but big enough to have risks. But mostly, these bad effects are due to excess vaccinations.
Dogs are only recommended to have vaccines when they are exposed to such diseases because of pollution or other factors. Inherited diseases are also looked at when giving vaccinations.
